Computer Setup

Our instructor-led classes require a few things to be installed on your computer in order to participate. It’s important to note that Google Chrome or Firefox are the recommended browsers for class, as they provide the best experience. We will email you the Computer Setup Guides the week before class.

Virtual Classes

  • Virtual classes run online via Zoom.

Requirements and Recommendations

  • A laptop or desktop computer with an internet connection, a web browser, audio speakers, and Adobe Flash
  • Recommended internet speed: 25 Mbps for download and 10 Mbps; to perform a speed test, please go to speedtest.net
  • We recommend a built-in or external webcam
  • We recommend a headset for the best audio quality for you to hear and for the instructor to hear you. Dial-in numbers may not be available for the sessions

Joining Your Virtual Class

  • We will send you the Zoom link for the class the week before the class begins. Keep that email handy to log in every day.

Learning Tips

  • Prepare your workspace. If you have two monitors, use one to watch the instructor and the other for classwork.
  • Reduce distractions. Find a quiet space like a conference room or home office
  • Turn on your out-of-office email and block your calendar during the class.
